End of the Year Country Celebrations

Picture
We made it! It's the end of the year and all that's left to do is celebrate. In order to do so, we are going to plan a party. At the beginning of the year, each class was assigned a country. Now that the year is over, we are going to take some time and learn about that country more in depth while creating a class-wide Powerpoint. You will be working in groups of 3-4 in order to find information about:
  • The country's recent history (briefly, of course)
  • Traditional dishes
  • Traditional dress
  • One major holiday
  • 5 interesting/crazy facts
After we have finished the presentations, we will hold a party to celebrate while explaining our information to the class.

Our Book Presentations

1º-3ºESO: Creating an Alternative Ending

This year each class has read a story but imagine what if it had a different ending?

In groups of 4 you are going to imagine the story you have read in class with a different ending. This project will count for BOTH speaking and regular English classes.

You need to create:
  • A dialogue of the alternate ending. (YOU MUST MAKE A WRITTEN VERSION)
  • DVD cover including synopsis of the story.
  • A moodboard to show the actors, the set design, locations and costuming you would choose for your film.

In Speaking: You will have to explain your mood board and perform your dialogue.
In English: You have to hand in EVERYTHING you have created.

This project will take place 5/5/2017 - 12/5/2017 and you will be working on this project in Speaking and in English classes. Gina will organize when you have to present your project. After your presentation, you must hand in all of your work.
  • 11-12/05/17: Speaking presentations, depending on when you have class.

Remember this is a GROUP project! And you must bring all the materials you want to use in class!
